April 3, 2024Food works as a fuel to our body and if we provide good quality and optimum quantity of fuel at right time to the body, we will remain healthy. The timing of our meals or food intake is of utmost importance in order to acquire a healthier and fitter body. We know what to eat but it is equally crucial to know that exactly when to eat. In many of our ancient texts, the benefits of having an early dinner have been mentioned, preferably before 7.00 p.m. Do you know by having an early dinner, we can actually enhance the working capacity and capability of our body? There are numerous health-related advantages of this kind of eating habit like sound sleep, better digestion, easy weight loss, improved cardiovascular health and energy boost to name a few. This article will shed a light on many such benefits and will discuss them in detail.
Sleep well:
When you eat late, your digestive system doesn’t get enough time to complete the process of digestion before going to bed which eventually leads to problems like indigestion or risk of heartburn causing frequent sleep interruptions. Therefore, it is suggested to have a gap between your last meal and your sleep time, so that before going to bed your body completes the digestion and you can enjoy a sound sleep.
Easy weight loss:
Having an early dinner can also play a significant role in our weight loss. By consuming our last meal in an early hour, we can create a sufficient time gap till our next day’s first meal and as a result, our body is pushed to utilize the stored fat as energy in order to compensate and initiates fat loss.
Keeps your heart healthy:
Usually, our dinner includes food items that are rich in salt and by having a high amount of sodium-rich food (salty food) late at night our blood pressure can fluctuate higher, putting us at risk of getting heart disease in a longer run.
Energy boost:
When we eat early at night and sleep at an ideal time, our body is able to function properly and we wake up feeling refreshed and energized in the next morning. Because of this, we feel a lot calmer while performing our activities of daily living and achieve a better focus.
To conclude, our body has an internal rhythm known as ‘Circadian rhythm’, according to which it schedules major body functions. This rhythm can easily get affected by the timing of our regular tasks such as waking up late, or eating late, etc. So by taking a small step like having dinner at the correct time, we can not only help in better regulation of this rhythm but can also improve our overall wellbeing.
